Penetration Puja at a 550-year-old heritage madrasa in India

A 550-year-old madrasa in the Indian state of Karnataka held a puja against Hindu extremists on the night of Dasami. Police have registered a case against 9 people in the case of trespassing. Located in the Bidar district of Karnataka, this madrasa is a ‘Heritage’ institution of the Archaeological Survey. Bidar Meghnawar Additional SP Mahesh said Syed Mubashir Ali lodged a complaint with the Market Police Station reporting the incident of trespassing in the ASI Heritage Building. Based on the complaint filed by him, a case has been registered against nine people.
A local resident, who did not wish to be named, told Hindustan Times, “The incident took place around 2 am.” The intruders broke the lock of the madrasa, sprinkled vermilion and prayed. After that the police was informed about the incident.
Meanwhile, a video of the incident has been released. An eyewitness captured the incident on his mobile phone. In the video, a group of youths stand on the steps of the madrasa chanting slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Victory to Hinduism’. Then they stand in a corner and worship. However, Hindustan Times could not verify the authenticity of this video.
Meanwhile, Bidar police said that four people have already been arrested on suspicion of being involved in the incident. Police are said to be searching for other accused.
According to the police, the investigation is going on based on the complaint of the madrasa authorities. Several Muslim organizations in Bidar condemned the incident and staged protests demanding the arrest of the culprits. They have warned that there will be massive protests after Friday prayers.
Meanwhile, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief and Member of Parliament from Hyderabad Asaduddin Waisi said in a tweet that the BJP government in Karnataka was promoting such incidents to “humiliate Muslims”.
