The Royal Bengal Tiger is the national animal of India. However, a case was filed in the Supreme Court to declare the cow as the national animal. The country’s top court dismissed the public interest case directly.
Speaking about this case, Justice SK Kaul said, “Is it the job of the Supreme Court to declare India’s national animal?” Meanwhile, the petitioner’s lawyer said, “It is very important for the Indian government to protect the cow.” Cow urine is used, cow dung is used for farming. The cow must be saved.’
Hearing this application, Justice Kaul said, ‘Why do you make such an application where we are forced to levy a fine? ‘
His clear question ‘Is this the work of the court?’ He continued to ask, ‘Is there any violation of fundamental rights? ‘

The court later said that it would be better if the petitioner himself withdrew the case. Finally, the court asked the petitioner’s lawyer to withdraw the case. And he took it. In fact, the Supreme Court dismissed the case outright. Besides, the applicant lawyer said, “Let the government decide, we are not forcing anyone.”
